The Privacy Policy applies to all Visitors and Users, registered and non-registered, who use and/or visit www.bidmania.co.za.
To facilitate your active and full use of the Website’s services, we require you to provide us with some personal information. We therefore ask that you agree to the collection and storage of necessary data. You can revoke your consent at any time by cancelling your registration.
Once you have registered on BidMania, you are asked to choose a BidMania User name (User ID) together with a Password, which will then allow you to take advantage of all the BidMania services.
By accepting the Terms and Conditions (User Agreement) of this Website and this Privacy Policy, you expressly consent to the collection, management, storage and disclosure of your personal data as described below.
Note: Your data is collected and processed exclusively by BidMania.
Use of Data
BidMania has the right to electronically gather, store, and use the personal information you provide us with during registration, including but not limited to, your:
· Name and surname;
· birth date;
· gender;
· e-mail addresses;
· residential address;
· ID/passport number.
We may also store the following details:
· Items you purchase or place bids on;
· the payment services you use;
· your IP address.
Please note we do not store your payment details.
Data are continuously stored and updated as you make use of the Site’s services, i.e., when you buy an item, win an item, amend your personal and/or login details and when making payments.
Our primary purpose for collecting this Data is to enable BidMania to provide you with a safe, problem-free, efficient, satisfying and personalised experience.
We may use your data to:
· Provide you with our service and customer support;
· collect payments, resolve disputes and troubleshoot problems occurred;
· prevent potential illegal activity and enforce our User Agreement;
· customise and improve our services, content on-site and advertising,
· inform you via e-mail or SMS (depending on your communication preference) of our service updates and promotions;
· evaluate information for accuracy and authentication.
Disclosure of Data
We may disclose personal information to comply with legal requirements, enforce our policies, respond to claims of infringement on others, or to protect anyone’s rights, property or safety as we see fit.

· service providers, such as Payfast, Ukash and SID Payment and other service providers helping in the operation of the Site;
· third parties to whom you expressly ask us to send your information or when you consent to by using their site(s);
· law enforcement agencies, other government agencies or parties with valid warrants;
· other entities or parties, should we plan to merge or make managerial changes to our business.
Without limiting the above, we shall try our utmost to keep all your personal information safe and secure and to not disclose any details to any parties, unless bona fide.
When you are logged in, your User ID (User name), as chosen by you, is displayed on the Website. This User ID will be the name other Users/Bidders can view. It will also enable other Users to keep track of your overall Site activity, i.e. when you bid/purchase or win an item.
If you associate your birth name with your User ID, the people to whom you have revealed your name will be able to personally identify and trace your BidMania activities. When you make a public posting, such as a bid, you will be unable to change or remove information with regards to the said post.
Your Account
You can view, review and change your personal account details when logged into the Site. Please take the time to amend and update your details as and when necessary, or when you find that displayed information is incorrect. We will not usually make remote manual changes to your account.
You may cancel your registration or BidMania account at any time you wish. We will close your account and remove your personal information from view as soon as reasonably possible, in accordance with applicable law.
To comply with the law, we do retain some information after your account is closed, in order to prevent fraud, resolve disputes, collect fees, help in investigations, troubleshooting, enforce our User Agreement and other action permitted or necessary by law.
Protection from “web crawlers” or “spam”
BidMania guarantees that your e-mail address will only be used with your express consent and only for the purposes stated in the Terms of Use. We will not sell or rent your e-mail address to third parties and we will prevent, to the best of our ability, your e-mail address from being traced by "web crawlers" or “spiders” and to ensure the prevention of “spamming”.

The use of Cookies on our Website
BidMania uses “cookies” (small files placed on your hard drive) to help analyse our web page flow, customise our services, content and marketing; measure promotional effectiveness, and to promote trust and safety.
You are under no obligation to allow cookies to be saved on your hard drive. Simply adjust the corresponding settings in your browser. We also do not require that you accept any cookies in order to use our services. However, be advised: disabling these settings may result in limited functionality.
BidMania has no access or control of these cookies, therefore cannot accept liability for any malfunctioning of a Customer's PC or its installed web browser as a result of the Customer's access to any of the websites.
Security Measures
Your password is the key to your BidMania account, profile and relevant personal information, which you hold. Use unique numbers, letters and characters, unconventional sequences, and the like, to ensure privacy and exclusive control.
Do not disclose your BidMania password to anyone. If you do choose to do so, remember that you will be held responsible for actions taken in the name of your account.BidMania assumes no liability for the abuse of login data and passwords.
We ask you to contact us immediately should you find any discrepancies regarding your account.
Note: We never ask you to provide us with your password in any of our e-mails to you.
We strongly recommended that you sign out properly from our Site and to also close the Internet Browser once you’ve conclude your BidMania activities. This is especially relevant when making use of a PC in public locations (e.g. internet café’s). This is a necessary safety measure to protect your account and ensure that nobody else has access to any of your personal information.
Except when otherwise expressly included in this Privacy Policy, this document addresses only the use and disclosure of information we, BidMania Shop (Pty) Ltd, collect from you.
If you disclose your information to third parties, whether they are bidders, buyers, or sellers on the Site or other websites throughout the Internet, different rules may apply to their use or disclosure of your information. We do not control the privacy practices of such third parties and we encourage you to read their privacy policies and ask questions before disclosing your personal information.
